I had a busy weekend!
Friday night I went to see the Avengers with Kaycie, it was really fun! I liked the movie a lot. I think my favorite was Iron Man. I just love his sarcasm.
Saturday I went to Sandy Beach with Celina and Cori. When I first got there I was on the rocky side and I was wondering why they called it sandy beach because it was mostly rocks and very little sand. I brought my body board because it was kind of windy that day so I might get to use it. I finally found the actual sandy part of the beach and there were so many other people my age! It was awesome. It felt like one of those movies where a group of friends goes to the beach and hangs out with all these people, there was music playing from cars, and people surfing, and a lifeguard tower. The only problem was that it was so windy that the waves were huge and it was dangerous to get it, so we only went in up to our knees.
Sunday Cori and I went to the shopping center and walked around some stores to pass the time. At the Price Busters (like a dollar store) I found this mango gumy candy that’s delicious and has no carbs or fat and even some fiber. It’s great :D Then I went to the pool to swim and ended up reading the Hunger Games. I finished the whole book when I got home.
Monday I had off because it was Memorial Day. I went to the North Shore to snorkel with 5 other interns. It was really fun, even though the water was colder than I remembered. Then we went to this lantern thing in Ala moana, which was really pretty! I got lots of good pictures.
Tomorrow we’re going to have 5 school groups at work, which will be hard but as a reward Tara is taking us for ice cream after lunch. Living here is going to make me fat, there’s too many delicious snacks.
Fun day at work today!
Tara is awesome and was able to get the whole education department (4 of us) in the touch tank! We basically had to greet guests and teach them the touch pool rules. Tara and Christina also learned how to handle the baby turtle, and I get to learn after being in the touch pool a few more times.
Tonight Kaycie and I are going to see the Avengers! (finally!) Then I have three days off again. I want to go to work though! I love work!
What would happen if turtles took over the planet?” “It would be a honu world!
So, we’re about to watch Iron Man so I’m going to do a short version of this.
Yesterday was my first day of work. In the morning I helped greet a school group, we saw a special school group show, and then I helped pass out food for a turtle feed. Then I watched another show, and the other intern and I prepared for camp by cutting out wholphins to make into hats. Then we were told to explore the park and learn about stuff.
Today we did the same stuff with the school groups. Then we spent like an hour and a half at the touch pool to learn. We saw the sea lion show again. Basically right now we’re learning about as much as we can so that we can educate others about it.
